Baruch STEP Academy competed in the NYC Science Bowl Regional
Competition held this year at Hunter College High School.
The team of five students made it to the third round before
losing to Regis High School, the eventual NYC winner.
Description:
Science bowl is a team competition class that tests students’
knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. This
class is meant prepare high school students for the U.S.
Department of Energy (DOE) National Science Bowl annual
competition, as well as enrich student’s understanding
in fundamental science and math topics like biology, chemistry,
algebra, physics, geology, astronomy and geometry.
Learning Objectives:
Develop a stronger foundation in all basic STEM fields
Prepare for the U.S. (DOE) National Science Bowl annual
competition
Deliver oral presentations that communicate fundamental
and relevant scientific concepts
Baruch STEP Science Bowl class has competed in the NYC
Regional Science Bowl the past two years and finished in
the third round this past year
