NYIT College of Osteopathic
Medicine’s STEP Day of Service
2013 @ Glen Cove High School and
Wyandanch Memorial High School
An important aspect of higher education is giving back. NYIT
College of Osteopathic Medicine’s STEP
Day of Service is a chance for our First and Second
Year medical students to give back to the community. They
spoke to the students at Glen Cove High School and Wyandanch
Memorial High School about the importance of obtaining a higher
education. Many first generation doctors, college graduates
and U.S. citizens, they shared their trials and their triumphs.
They encouraged the high school students to pursue their dreams
whether they are in the Health and Medical field or other
chosen paths.
Advice on choosing colleges close to home, or away, majors,
financial aid, study habits, incorporating social life, and
completing high school were some of the subjects touched on
by the soon to be doctors.
