DNA Day Celebration
at Medgar Evers College

Brooklyn, NY
The Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) and the
Genomics Education & Outreach Project with the School
of Science, Technology & Health of Medgar Evers College
on Wednesday, April 25th celebrated its 5th National DNA Day
on campus. The College is hosted students from Brooklyn middle
schools, 285, MS61 and New Heights. Students will learned
about the science of genomics, human variation, and extract
DNA in the laboratory.
National DNA Day, is a unique day when students, teachers
and the public can learn more about genetics and genomics!
The day, designated by Congress in 2003, commemorates the
completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003, and
the discovery of DNA’s double helix in 1953.
