Significant Professional or Academic Accomplishments:
Patrick Piedra was a member of CSTEP at the University at
Albany from 2011-2013. Almost immediately, Patrick began working
as a STEP tutor of Mathematics at Albany High, as well as
being a volunteer tutor to his peers at CSTEP. Patrick presented
a research project at the 2013 McNair Conference, and represented
UAlbany as the ambassador at the 2013CSTEP Student Conference.
He has also been active outside of CSTEP by being a Teaching
Assistant on multiple occasions for computer science and mathematics.
He has also been involved in research with the Wadsworth Center.
During the summer of 2013, Patrick was accepted into the University
at Albany’s Summer Research Program (UASRP) and has
been involved with the Cancer Research Center in Albany. After
graduating from theUniversity at Albany, Patrick was one of
the first people to be accepted into the UAlbany’s Bridge
to the Doctorate Program and currently going for his Master’s
in Mathematics while being a Graduate Assistant.Patrick plans
to continue his education in the hope of one day receiving
his PhD and becoming a professor.
