health careers website designed to explain the array of health
professions and provide easy access to students seeking information
about health careers. This website is a joint initiative involving
national foundations, professional associations, health career
advisors, educational institutions, and college students.
Summer Health Professions Education Program

SHPEP is a free (full tuition, housing, and meals) six-week
summer academic enrichment program that offers freshman and
sophomore college students intensive and personalized medical
and dental school preparation.
NERA MedPrep Scholars Program

NERA MedPrep Scholars Program is a free summer enrichment
program for under-represented and/or economically disadvantaged
college students interested in the medical field. MedPrep
is a 3 year summer commitment designed to give students an
opportunity to develop key skills and competencies that are
important to success on the road to medical school.

represents all 126 accredited medical schools that grant the
M.D. degree and more than 400 major teaching hospitals in
the United States. The AAMC also administer the MCAT®

disadvantaged students in urban schools from third grade on
to help them develop the tools necessary to successfully achieve
